I was biased right from the get go on this one, I knew I was going to love it to bits and did I ever! The original is almost laughable in comparison but still brilliant. Even though 3D wasn't a shocking development anymore, the graphics still managed to blow me away (at the time, mind you). This was helped by the ever expansive levels, heck, I think the hub level is nearly as big as everything in the first game. Part of the fun of the original was learning new skills that helped you advance further. This is continued, even piling on from the previous lot, many of which become hilariously outmoded. A lot of the new ones are quite creative I've found.
I think that another thing that really tipped this over the edge for me was the copious mini-games. While some of them (eg FPS style) got a little repetitive in their quantity, although still fun, other ones such as the dodgem cars were always awesome! I also commend them for making them replayable as it was something that held the original back for me sadly. This also applies to bosses. While there were a few in the first game (that so do not count!), there were plenty in this one and most were fun but challenging. The game as a whole is quite challenging too. While I've been known to play the first one as a speedrun since I know it very well, I've often struggled to completely scour this game for a 100% completion, and if I tried again it would certainly take a long time to do so.
If my incoherent mumblings haven't proven it enough, I love this game, one of my all time favourites.

Ohne Wenn und Aber einer meiner All-Time-Faves, sicher Top3! Wow, das waren noch Zeiten. Ein perfektes Game, mit einer Grafik die damals wirklich toll war. Die Länder waren alle mit Herz gestaltet und man hatte soviele Abwechslungen. Ich bewunderte meinen älteren Bruder jedesmal, wenn er schwierige Aufgaben recht schnell schaffte und ich so meine Probleme hatte :) 6*

Das ist ein richtiger Knaller. Früher habe ich sehr gerne Nintendo 64 gespielt und es sind Spiele wie dieses, die so viele schöne Erinnerungen hervorholt.

Dieses Game war echt niedlich. Das habe ich gerne gezockt.
